Meet your program facilitator

Julia De Jesus

Hi, I’m Julia, and in this role I advise students through the college application process. I’ve worked in higher education for the past 4 years and enjoy connecting high school and undergraduates to discuss their career options and which courses would be most beneficial to their goals.

Angie Tamayo Leon

Hi, I’m Angie, I’m one of the board members for Mariposa Collective and the Program Director for Year 1 Cohorts. I have been facilitating youth and community education workshops for 6+ years, with a focus on developing positive and joyful experiences for Black and brown students. I value trauma-informed education and implement strategies that make participation accessible for all students’ learning styles. Some of my favorite topics are: youth leadership development, college readiness, digital & media literacy, sexual health education, LGBTQ+ topics, and youth-led activism! I have experience working with adolescents and adults with I/DD (intellectual and developmental disabilities), and am bilingual in English and Spanish.
